Summerland Tourism Information
Welcome to Summerland where the spirit of summer never ends!
"It has been said that once you experience the vistas and the ambiance of Summerland you'll always find your way back to vacation, to explore or to live. Summerland's very name conjures up images of lazy warm days strolling through gardens; picking fruit in an orchard; sipping wine amid flowers and vines.
"Summerland, rich with history and culture, is nestled amid the rambling orchards and lush vineyards on the hills, overlooking Lake Okanagan just 35 minutes from Kelowna and 15 minutes to Penticton.

"There is much to discover in our small community. From our treasured Ornamental Gardens and our pristine beaches to the colourful flair of our artisans & cultural events. Summerland is also home to the Kettle Valley Steam Railway and the Trout Creek Canyon Trestle, which showcase the history of the old Kettle Valley Railway line built from 1910-1915.
"Summerland is a 2006 National Award Winner in the prestigious Communities in Bloom Competition. Communities In Bloom is a Canadian beautification program that provides information and education, and awards Bloom Ratings for achievement in floral displays, landscapes, turf, urban forestry, community involvement, heritage conservation, environmental awareness and tidiness. Come and visit us so you can see why Summerland received the maximum 5 Bloom Rating
"We invite you to travel our roads, seek out our treasures and cherish your time in the most delightful spot in the Okanagan Valley."

Our wintertime fun includes curling, skating and hockey at our arena complex and skiing the slopes of three excellent ski resorts in the Okanagan Valley. Apex Mountain, in particular, is only 45 minutes away, and has both summer and winter recreation. In the winter it boasts the fantastic, snowy hills and terrain for skiing, boarding, snow shoeing, and snowmobiling. In the summer, Apex offers exciting mountain-biking trails, restaurants and hiking.
Enjoy the beauty of Summerland year round and experience one of our many colourful festivals and attractions. Take the Kettle Valley Steam Train May through October. Visit our exquisite Ornamental Garden & Museum at the Pacific Agri-Food Research Centre, our estate or cottage wineries, and art galleries. Feast on delicious fruit and vegetables, home grown and ready for you at our quaint fruit stands and our weekly Farmer's Markets.
Our door is always open! We welcome visitors to our community to share our enthusiastic spirit.
